Bastide Adele

Overview

The exceptional 18th century farmhouse, Bastide Adele has been completely restored with old materials combining refinement and comfort, in about 400 square meters of living space, on two levels.

On the ground floor a majestic entrance hall with double staircase leads upstairs.  A large living room of about 50 square meters with reversible air-conditioning and a fireplace open onto terrace and to the other side of the hall a kitchen with fireplace and exposed beams leading to dining room with wood paneling. There is a pantry and a laundry room.

There is a large twin bedroom of about 50 square meters with reversible air-conditioning, terrace, bathroom and toilet.  

On the first floor, accessed by the double stone staircase there are three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.  The master suite has a king size bed, fireplace, large dressing room, reversible air conditioning and two balconies.  The bathroom has a tub, shower, & water closet. Two further bedrooms have queen size beds and reversible air conditioning, one with a bathroom with tub and the other with a shower room.

The annex/studio 40 square meters includes a main room with king size bed, reversible air conditioning, and a bathroom & water closet.  There is a large bay window looking out to the garden.

Outside is a very beautiful park of about two hectares with many Mediterranean species, lawns, orchards with olive trees, cherry trees, and apricot trees. A terrace is shaded by a plane tree and offers an area to eat outdoors. There is a large heated swimming pool with a large sundeck. A summer kitchen features several appliances and there is an outdoor Jacuzzi. There is also a tennis court (synthetic clay).

St Remy-de-Provence is a charming classical little town, capital of the Alpille with lots of amenities, boulangeries, little boutiques, quaint pavement cafes and excellent restaurants.  On its winding cobbled lanes you will discover the small squares, historic buildings, churches and museums and on Wednesday. The colorful weekly market will offer the opportunity to discover local products and handicrafts.

The landscape in this region is particularly picturesque, encompassing rolling hills dotted with quaint hilltop villages and countless hiking trails, extensive sunflower fields, olive groves. This region is steep with history with plenty of sites to visit such as Les Baux de Provence is considered 'one of the most beautiful villages in France. Avignon, Arles, Nîmes and Uzès and the are other towns you can easily visit in a day, and at only a 45 minute drive and to the east is the Luberon region and further south, Camargue’s unique wetland populated by pink flamingos and wild horses.
